According to the Bulacan Provincial Health Office, dengue cases have sharply increased since the start of 2025, spreading to dozens of barangays. Health officials expressed concern as more residents — especially children and young adults — continue to seek treatment for symptoms associated with the mosquito-borne disease.
In response to the surge, local authorities intensified efforts to curb transmission, urging residents to implement the “4S” strategy: search and destroy mosquito breeding sites, seek early medical consultation at the onset of symptoms, use safe insect repellent and protective clothing, and support fogging operations in high-risk areas. Officials stressed that eliminating stagnant water around homes and communities remains key to preventing further spread.
Barangay health workers and volunteers have been deployed to conduct regular inspections of residential areas, schools, and other public spaces to identify and eliminate potential Aedes mosquito breeding grounds. Information drives and community briefings have also been held to educate families on recognizing dengue symptoms such as high fever, severe headache, and rashes.
Health authorities reminded residents that early detection and prompt medical care are vital in managing dengue infections and reducing complications. They encouraged anyone experiencing symptoms to seek treatment immediately at the nearest health facility.
As the rainy season continues to create favorable conditions for mosquito breeding, officials warned that sustained community cooperation and preventive action are essential in controlling the dengue outbreak and protecting public health in Bulacan.
