The Bulacan Provincial Health Office intensified its dengue awareness campaign through social media, warning residents to stay vigilant during the rainy season when mosquito breeding increases.
CITY OF MALOLOS, Bulacan — The Bulacan Provincial Health Office strengthened its dengue information campaign through a detailed social media post warning residents to stay alert, especially during the rainy season.
Using the hashtags #AlertoBulakenyo and #DengueAlert, the post explained that mosquitoes multiply more rapidly during periods of frequent rainfall. It reminded the public that dengue is transmitted by the Aedes mosquito, which commonly breeds in stagnant water found in containers, canals, and other damp areas around homes.
The advisory outlined common dengue symptoms such as high fever lasting two to seven days, severe headache, muscle and joint pain, rashes, weakness, and possible bleeding. Residents were urged to monitor their health closely and seek medical consultation if symptoms appear.
The PHO also promoted the “IWASAN ANG W.I.L.D.” campaign, encouraging communities to maintain cleanliness, remove stagnant water, wear protective clothing, and use mosquito repellent as preventive measures. Authorities continue to call for community cooperation to reduce mosquito breeding sites and prevent the spread of dengue across Bulacan.
